Sydney Sixers take on Hobart Hurricanes in match eight of the Big Bash League (BBL). Sixers are on a roll, having won their two matches against Melbourne Stars and Hurricanes. The Moises Henriques-led side have performed well as a unit. Against Hurricanes, the skipper led from the front and scored a match-winning 73 runs. Wickets were tumbling at the other end but the seasoned campaigner continued to find gaps and scored a match winning knock.
His knock helped Sixers reach a competitive 144. Later, the bowlers kept the Hurricanes down to just 130. England pacer Tom Curran picked three wickets and Hayden Kerr chipped in with two wickets.
Meanwhile, Hurricanes have themselves to blame for the batting collapse. Matthew Wade and Short provided the team with a good start but both got out after scoring 20 and 21 runs respectively. Peter Handscomb tried to keep up with the asking rate but in the end, he did not get the required support from the rest of the batters. The Hurricanes vs Sixers was a close game and we can say that both teams didn't play to their maximum potential. The teams will be keen to rectify the flaws and deliver better performance in the coming game.
Pitch Report
The surface should be a sporting wicket, with some help for the bowlers as well. The ball may do a bit in the first few overs before the wicket flattens for the batters to make merry.
