Pakistan kept up to their reputation of being worse runners between the wickets in their ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup game against Nepal. Pakistan middle-order batter Najiha Alvi was run out in the game in a hilarious fashion as both batters were spotted on the same end of the pitch. The photos of the incident went viral with fans reacting to it plentifully.

Talking about the game, Nepal won the toss and elected to field first. The Pakistani batter could only score 87 runs before being bundled out inside 19.2 overs. Indu Barma returned with three wickets for Nepal while each of Kabita Kunwar, Kabita Joshi, and Sita Magar returned with two wickets from the first innings. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar top scored with 28 runs off 36 deliveries while skipper Fatima Sana, Sadaf Shamas, and Gull Feroza with scores of 16, 12, and 11, respectively were the only batters to reach double figures.

Pakistan won the game by 9 runs despite a terrible batting performance

In reply, Nepal could not even chase the easy target of 88 runs. They could only manage 78/6 in their 20 overs, falling short by 10 runs. In the process, Pakistan managed to triumph by 9 runs. Opener Kabita Kunwar was the top scorer for Nepal with 20 runs from 32 deliveries. Whereas her name sake Kabita Joshi with 15 off 17 balls was the only other batter to reach double figures. Syeda Aroob Shah remained the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/16 from four overs. Tuba Hassan also scalped two while Umm-e-Hani and Anosha Nasir each managed to pick up one wicket.

In Group A for the inaugural ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup in 2023 are India A, Pakistan A, Nepal, and Hong Kong. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka A, Malaysia, the UAE, Bangladesh, and Bangladesh A make up Group 2. Each team plays three games during the group round, with the top two teams playing in the semifinal to decide the winner. The ACC Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 will reach its conclusion on 21st June, 2023.
