India and Bangladesh locked horns in the third and last of the three-match ODI series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhary Stadium in Chattogram. Bangladesh captain Litton Das decided to bowl first against the men in blue in the last fixture of the three-match series. Batting first, the visitors posted a mammoth total of 409 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the 50 overs.

While chasing the target, Litton Das & co. fell 228 runs short of the target and lost the match by a big margin of 227 runs.

Apart from the series win over Bangladesh and India’s victory in the dead rubber, the last match of the series will be remembered for the brilliant batting heroics of Ishan Kishan and the record-breaking 44th ODI century of former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli.

Looking at some historic records in this match, the 24-year-old Indian opener Ishan Kishan has become the first batter in ODI cricket to score the fastest double century. He completed his double ton only on 126 balls and surpassed the former Caribbean legend Chris Gayle who achieved this feat in 131 balls.

Apart from this, Ishan has also become the fourth Indian batter to score a double century in ODI cricket. His memorable knock ended up with the individual score of 210 runs off 131 balls with 24 boundaries and 10 sixes to his name.

Other than Ishan, former Indian skipper and veteran batter, Virat Kohli scored his 44th ODI century after a long wait of three years since the last one he scored three years back in the year 2019.
