Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli's wicket is one of the important elements for either of the bowlers throughout the formats of the game. But the senior Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam has something different to say on the same note. The left-arm orthodox recently scalped the wicket of former Indian skipper and modern-day batting great Virat Kohli.

He ended up on the first day of the series opener as the leading wicket-taker for the host as he scalped 3 wickets including that one of Virat Kohli. Although, apart from Kohli's wicket, Taijul reckoned Pujara's wicket almost at the end of the day as the crucial one for him.

Later after the end of the first day's play, the 30-year-old talked about what he felt after sending off Kohli only on a score of 1 run. Subsequently, the Natore-based cricketer said that Pujara's wicket was dearer to his heart than that of Kohli.

I think the line and length were good and perhaps he missed - Taijul Islam

"I have picked up the wicket of Virat earlier in my career so doesn't need to be the highlight of my career. I think the line and length were good and perhaps he missed on quite a few occasions but I felt that the ball (which removed Pujara) turned quite sharply. He felt it will be straight but as it turned it hit the stump," said Taijul Islam during the press conference in aftermath of the first day's game against India.

"I totally agree and you can say that (we could have bowled them out if we had taken those chances). If they had lost five to six wickets with 10 to 15 overs in our hand then it was possible to bowl them out," said Taijul at the end of the day's play. "Considering everything I don't think we are in a very bad position and in fact in a good position as this is only the first day of the Test match. If we had not made the mistakes we would have been in a better position," he added later.
