On 13 May 2023, Delhi Capitals (DC) took on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing IPL. The match took place in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Before this clash, PBKS were in the eighth position with 10 points in 11 games. While DC were in the last position with only eight points in 11 games.

Meanwhile, both the teams were coming off after a defeat in their respective last games. So, both teams were looking to get back to winning ways. Speaking of the match, David Warner won the toss and opted to field first. For PBKS, their skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh came out to bat.

PBKS won the match by 31 runs

But, Dhawan got out on seven runs off five balls. But, Prabhsimran Singh played some shots and scored his maiden IPL ton. He scored 103 runs off 65 balls, including 10 fours and six sixes. Other batters failed miserably while only Sam Curran scored 20 runs off 24 balls, including one four. Finally, PBKS scored 167 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. For DC, Ishant Sharma took two wickets for 27 runs in three overs. Along with him, Axar Patel, Praveen Dubey, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar grabbed one wicket each. Then, for DC, their skipper Warner and Phil Salt came out to open the innings.

They both gave a solid start as DC reached 65 runs in the first six overs without losing any wickets. But, after that, DC suffered a collapse and they were struggling at 88 runs for six wickets in 10.1 overs. DC batters were absolutely clueless against the spin web of Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar. Brar finished his spell with four wickets for 30 runs in four overs. While Chahar grabbed two scalps for 16 runs in four overs. Finally, DC managed 136 runs for eight wickets and PBKS won the match by 31 runs. Nathan Ellis also took two wickets in his four overs after conceding 26 runs.
