Indian team under the captaincy of KL Rahul is playing the first of the three-match Test series against Bangladesh. Zahur Ahmed Chowdhary stadium in Chattogram is hosting this Test series opener today. In the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, his deputy KL Rahul went in the middle for the toss. The latter decided to bat first after winning the toss.

Everyone was expecting a comeback from the senior batter KL Rahul, but he failed to deliver yet again and went back to the pavilion with an individual score of 22 runs. Earlier, he also struggled in a poor run of form with a poor run of form.

The fans are in angst following another miserable knock from the Indian captain against Bangladesh in the red-ball series. They took to Twitter for lashing out at the 30-year-old batter for a poor display with the bat.

Talking about the match between India and Bangladesh so far, the Indian team has posted a score of 85 runs for the loss of three wickets in the 26 overs at the time of lunch. Young opener Shubman Gill scored 20 runs followed by a 1-run knock from Virat Kohli.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and specialist batter Cheteshwar Pujara are unbeaten at the time of lunch with individual scores of 12 and 29 runs respectively. Pacer Khaleel Ahmed scalped one wicket alongside Taijul Islam who picked two wickets from Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli.

Notably, the senior players of India including the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma alongside senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are not playing in the first Test. Rohit was ruled out of the series due to an injury in his left thumb during the second ODI against the hosts.

Just a few days back, senior domestic pacer Jaydev Unadkat was added to the squad as a replacement for the senior pacer Mohammed Shami.
