The world lost an icon in Lata Mangeshkar earlier today after the veteran passed away at the age of 92. The global cricketing fraternity paid their respects to the late Indian singer on social media. Pakistan captain Babar Azam also joined in and mourned her demise.
Babar Azam took to Twitter and said that Lata Mangeshkar's legacy will continue to live in hearts of millions worldwide. "End of a golden era. Her magical voice and legacy will continue to live in the hearts of millions worldwide. An unparalleled icon! RIP Smt. Lata Mangeshkar Ji," Azam wrote in his tweet.

Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital to treat covid and pneumonia. Two-day national mourning will be observed in memory of Lata Mangeshkar. The national flag will also fly at half-mast for two days, and she will be given a state funeral.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam is captaining Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, where they are struggling to win a match. They have played four matches so far and lost all of them. They find themselves at the bottom of the points table.
Karachi Kings are practically in a do-or-die situation. They need to win all of their matches to stand a chance to make it to the playoffs of the tournament. Their next game is against Islamabad United on the 6th of February.
