Ayodhya Ram Mandir Ceremony: Cricket Fraternity's Reaction at 'Pran Pratistha' Inauguration

The much-awaited inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh took place on Monday (January 22), with several celebrities and prominent personalities from all fields gracing the occasion. The Pran Pratishtha of the idol of Ram Lalla - the childhood form of Lord Ram - began at 12:20 pm, after which Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering.

The grant ceremony was reportedly attended by around 6000 VVIPs from across the nation, which includes actors, sportspersons, industrialists, politicians, etc. From the cricket fraternity, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, Anil Kumble, Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj among a few others were invited to witness the historical event.

Speaking to India Today, Master Blaster Tendulkar said: "It was a very special experience for me, in fact this is a historic day. I want to say that the dream has been fulfilled for the entire Indian population. This is a proud moment for our culture and spiritual heritage. This will inspire the next generation. I am very happy that I was able to attend this and I would like to bring my family here."

Legendary spinner Kumble also visited Ayodhya with his partner and posted a picture on his X handle with the caption: "Pure Bliss and Blessed to be part of this divine occasion".

Speaking to news agency ANI, the former India cricketer said: “It is a wonderful occasion, a very divine occasion. Blessed to be a part of this. It's very historic. Looking forward to seeking blessings from Ram Lalla. We’ll continue to come to Ayodhya but to be a part of this occasion in itself is a wonderful feeling, and we’re blessed."

Former India women's team captain Mithali Raj shared a picture of herself with Saina Nehwal on social media, where the duo basked in the joy of being a part of the historic event. Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad also shared a video of him chanting "Jai Shree Ram.”

Many others in the Indian cricketer fraternity took to social media to share their reactions on the auspicious occasion.
