Team India registered a comfortable seven-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan in the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai. After restricting the Men in Green to a modest total, the Men in Blue, led by skipper Suryakumar Yadav, chased it down with ease, completing the job with more than four overs and seven wickets in hand.

Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha won the toss and chose to bat, but the decision backfired immediately. India’s bowlers struck early, sending Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris back cheaply. Sahibzada Farhan tried to steady the innings with 40 off 44 balls, including three sixes and a four, but his strike rate of 90.90 kept Pakistan under pressure.

Fakhar Zaman added 17 from 15 deliveries, yet the middle order struggled badly against India’s spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel, who allowed little room for scoring or even strike rotation.

Pakistan found some late momentum thanks to Shaheen Shah Afridi, who smashed an unbeaten 33 from just 16 balls at a strike rate of 206.25. His cameo lifted Pakistan past 120, but they could only manage 127/9 in 20 overs.

For India, Kuldeep once again starred with the ball, claiming three wickets. Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah picked up two each, while Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy chipped in with one apiece.

Let’s take a look at India’s Chase

India’s reply began with fireworks from Abhishek Sharma. The young opener hammered 31 off just 13 deliveries, striking at 238.46, to put Pakistan immediately on the back foot. Shubman Gill failed to score big, falling for 10, but skipper Suryakumar Yadav marked his 35th birthday with an unbeaten 47 off 37 balls.

He added 56 runs for the third wicket with Tilak Varma, who scored 31 off 31. Shivam Dube (10* off 7) joined Surya at the end, and the captain fittingly finished the game with a six.
