The tournament ended in just the way everyone had predicted and expected it to be, with India being crowned as Champions yet again. The final game was a much more closely fought game than everyone would have thought it would be, but India gripped back in the game and won by five wickets at the end.
India had won the toss and opted to bowl, where the Pakistan openers did a terrific job. They played aggressive cricket and lasted for 84 runs in about 10 overs. Fakhar Zaman missed out on his half-century, but Sahibzada Farhan notched up yet another fifty, putting his team in a great position.
However, after the end of 10 overs, the game started changing, where Indian bowlers and specifically the spinners, started getting back in the game. Wickets kept tumbling heaps, and the team could not even last for all 20 overs before being bowled out for 146 runs.
Let’s take a look at India’s Chase
India had a forgettable start to the chase in this game. Unlike all other games, they could not have a good power play as they lost Abhishek early. Pakistan bowlers bowled really well as they reduced India to a score of 20 runs for the loss of three wickets.
Tilak Varma joined hands with Sanju Samson for the fourth wicket and had a good partnership between them. Even after Sanju got out, Varma kept at the game with Shivam Dube getting boundaries from the other end.
The final touch was presented by Rinku Singh, and India won the game with two balls to spare, with Tilak remaining not out till the very end of the game. He scored an excellent half-century under pressure in the finals, leading the team to a win by five wickets.
