After winning the toss in Abu Dhabi, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav chose to bat first. The start wasn’t ideal as vice-captain Shubman Gill departed early for just five runs. However, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson steadied the innings with a 66-run stand for the second wicket. Abhishek played a blistering knock of 38 off just 15 balls at a strike rate of 253.33. Samson anchored the innings with a well-made 56 off 45 balls.

The middle order chipped in with quick runs—Axar Patel struck 26 off 13, Tilak Varma added 29 off 18, and Harshit Rana remained unbeaten on 13 off eight balls. Hardik Pandya, unfortunately, was run out at the non-striker’s end. For Oman, Aamir Kaleem, Jiten Ramanandi, and Shah Faisal picked up two wickets each as India posted a competitive total.

Let’s take a look at Oman’s Chase

Oman’s chase surprised many fans with its intent against India’s strong bowling unit. Aamir Kaleem followed up his bowling effort with a fluent 64 off 46, while Hammad Mirza smashed 51 off 33.

Skipper Jatinder Singh scored 32 off 33, but his slower innings hurt the momentum. In the final overs, Jiten Ramanandi remained unbeaten on 12 off five balls, but Oman eventually managed 167/4 in 20 overs, falling short by 21 runs.

For India, the bowling was shared evenly as Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh took a wicket each. Samson was named Player of the Match for his crucial half-century.

Oman ended their campaign with three losses out of three, but their fearless effort against the reigning T20 World Cup champions earned them plenty of respect.
