Asia Cup 2025 schedule announced; UAE to host the tournament from September 9 to 28

The full itinerary for the 2025 Asia Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been formally released by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dhaka on Thursday, and all of its members were present, either in person or through Zoom.

One of the main topics of discussion during the summit was the Asia Cup 2025, which was doubtful because of Indo-Pak tensions. The members made choices about the competition.

Notably, five Pakistani terrorists killed 26 innocent people in an attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which sparked cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor, destroying terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The AGM gave the continental tournament the go-ahead despite the tensions between India and Pakistan. Earlier on Saturday, Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the eight-team T20 tournament would take place in the United Arab Emirates and revealed the dates for the Asia Cup 2025.

Along with Oman and the United Arab Emirates, India and Pakistan have been assigned to Group A, while Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are in Group B.

The top two teams from each group go to the Super Four stage, where the top two teams become the finalists, meaning that the Men in Blue and Men in Green can face off against each other no more than three times.

Because of the three-year agreement between the BCCI and PCB, which stipulates that India and Pakistan would not visit each other's countries and that the matches between the teams will be played in a neutral location, the UAE will host the event even though India is the official host.
