Asia Cup 2025: Predicting Hong Kong playing XI vs Bangladesh, Match 3

It has only been one day since the Asia Cup got underway and Hong Kong are in a must-win situation already. They lost to Afghanistan by a huge margin of 94 runs in the opening game of the tournament and are scheduled to face Bangladesh next in the third game on September 11 (Thursday).

But they didn’t play as bad as the margin looks. Hong Kong bowlers created chances only for the players to drop five catches on the field. As far as their playing XI is concerned, they are unlikely to make changes only after one game.

The opening duo of Zeeshan Ali and Anshman Rath is known to compliment each other well. The latter is an experienced player and knows how to step up in tough situations. Both openers will be keen on making amends after a poor start in the previous game.

Babar Hayat was the top run-scorer for Hong Kong batting at three as he scored 39 runs off 43 balls with three sixes to his name. He will be key yet again in the middle-order while two of their important players - Nizakat Khan and Kinchit Shah - also form the fulcrum of their batting line-up.

Kalhan Challu was extremely disappointing against Afghanistan as he scored four runs even after dropping not once but twice. Captain Yasim Murtaza is an all-rounder as he bowls four economical overs and bats at seven. His performance will be massive if Hong Kong are to beat Bangladesh.

Ehsan Khan is there forever for Hong Kong with his off-spin bowling but even he conceded 26 runs in two overs in the opening game of Asia Cup. The fast bowling attack comprises Ayush Shukla, Ateeq Iqbal and Aizaz Khan for Hong Kong. Shukla was among the best bowlers for them and they could’ve had Sediqullah Atal in the first over itself in the previous game. Shukla will have to bowl a similar spell again in this game to rock Bangladesh upfront.
