Asia Cup is all set to kickstart from today with the first match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. There is a much-anticipated clash waiting to happen at the same venue tomorrow 28th of the August (Sunday). India will be eyeing to clear off their account with the arch-rivals of the previous defeat in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Recently, former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer has come up with a big statement regarding Pakistani skipper Babar Azam ahead of the match between India and Pakistan. He went on to say that Babar Azam will score more runs than the Indian skipper and senior batter Rohit Sharma.

"I think Rohit will have more impactful runs. But I feel Babar will make more runs. Babar Azam is a world-class player and his consistent performance in all three formats over the last three years is solid proof of his flight. He plays well under pressure, big players are those who perform under pressure. It's never easy for a captain to focus on his skills. In fact, he is performing well in all three formats,” said Jaffer to ESPNcicinfo.

Notably, Rohit is currently at the second spot in the list of highest run-scorers in the tournament with 883 runs to his name in 26 innings. Only Former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar is ahead of him. Now, Sharma needs only 89 runs against Pakistan to overtake Sachin in this record.

It is the first time that Indians will face Pakistan after the last clash in the T20 World Cup 2021. In the previous encounter, Pakistan won the match with a massive margin of 10 wickets against the men in blue. It was also the first time when Pakistan won against India in any match in either of the World Cups.

Although both teams have faced some major blows ahead of the tournament as ace speedsters Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi were ruled out of the tournament due to their respective injuries.
