'Apna Kaam banta bhaad me jaaye janta' - Fans troll Ajinkya Rahane for not showing intent after getting selected for Test Champioship final

Indian veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane surprised everyone by performing brilliantly in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League while playing for the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which helped him to make a remarkable comeback in the Indian Test squad for the upcoming Test Championship final against Australia on June 7 at The Oval.

However, ever since Rahane got selected into the squad, he has stopped performing due to which fans are trolling him a lot on social media. Rahane played 3 innings after his selection and scored 15 (13), 21 (17), and 21 (20). CSK need just 1 or 2 matches to win in order to qualify for the playoffs but in that stage, the team will need Rahane’s brilliance and it’d be great if he get back to his past form before the playoffs.

His last appearance came against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 55th match of the Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 10. Rahane had a great chance to score big but the slow Chepauk pitch never let him open his hands and eventually, he was dismissed on the score of just 21 runs.

As for the match, CSK won the toss and opted to bat first but didn’t get the start they expected from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. However, somehow, with the help of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja's late blows, along with Shivam Dube’s quick innings of 25 runs off just 12 balls, helped them achieve a total of 167 runs.

Chasing the target, CSK pacer Deepak Chahar nipped out both the openers David Warner and Philip Salt which was followed by a horrible mix-up between Mitchell Marsh and Manish Pandey resulting in the former's downfall. The visitors had lost their top three inside four overs on a slow surface even before Dhoni had introduced spin. 

Pandey and Rilee Rossouw stitched a 59-run stand for the fourth wicket but that came at run-a-ball. The CSK spinners choked DC with spin and the visitors couldn't recover afterwards. Matheesha Pathirana was a bit expensive but he picked three wickets as he coupled his yorkers with the slower deliveries and helped the team to win the match by 27 runs.
