The ongoing T10 League in Abu Dhabi has brought to the limelight a lot of unknown cricketers. If Abdul Shakoor was in the news for his 28-ball 73 in the opening game for Maratha Arabians, it was the cricketer from India, Imtiaz Ahmed who hogged the limelight on the second day of the tournament.

Imtiaz dismissed the Universe Boss Chris Gayle off with a corker of a delivery in the first over of the game itself while playing for Deccan Gladiators against the Team Abu Dhabi. Imtiaz Ahmed also sent back Ireland star Paul Stirling in the same over disturbing his stumps. Surprisingly, Imtiaz didn’t bowl again in the match and ended the game with the figures of 2/8.

Imtiaz Ahmed was born on November 10, 1985, in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh

He made his List-A debut in February 2008 and in the same year, in November, played red-ball cricket as well for Uttar Pradesh.

Soon, Imtiaz made his T20 debut as well on October 20, 2009.

His heroics at the domestic level led to him being picked by Pune Warriors in 2011 IPL and was later also picked up by the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.

Imtiaz Ahmed played 45 FC, 20 List-A, and 20 T20 matches for his state team picking up 138, 26, and 17 wickets respectively.

He last played domestic cricket back in January 2019.

Imtiaz Ahmed made his T10 debut on January 28 and picked Chris Gayle and Paul Stirling’s wicket in the very first over of his second game.
