Jasprit Bumrah’s injury has become a mystery for all team India fans as he is still recovering from the back injury. In 2022, the pacer missed both major tournaments, Asia Cup and the 20-20 World Cup. Now, he is going to miss the upcoming Indian T20 League for the Mumbai franchise.

He even might miss the World Test Championship final for team India, as per reports. Now, another report came out from the Indian Express that the injury status of Bumrah is being kept a secret. Only the former India cricketer VVS Laxman is allowed to talk with him and the physios. Even, many on the Indian Cricket Board are unaware of it.

As quoted by the Indian Express, a close source to the Board said: “Not many in the BCCI are aware of his injury. Only VVS Laxman (NCA director) has been assigned to speak to him and the physios. Even the selection committee has been told that they will be informed about Bumrah’s actual injury and his rehab details in due course.”

In January 2023, Bumrah was named for a comeback in the home series against Sri Lanka. But, he got ruled out. The source also claimed that Bumrah is being monitored closely as a wrong call on him could result in a career-threatening injury. The source said: “His back is in a fragile state right now. Besides, last time Bumrah’s return was hastened. Since he hadn’t fully recovered, he had discomfort while bowling on his return. This time, we are more conservative as a wrong call might even result in a career-threatening injury.”
