On Monday in the Indian Premier League 2023, the struggling Delhi Capitals registered their second win of the season over the Sunrisers Hyderabad. As such, before the game, India cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra predicted that SRH would win this game against DC, and fans were quick to troll him for yet another wrong prediction. Notably, Chopra has been making these predictions before each IPL 2023 game and has often been wrong.

Talking of the game, David Warner, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, earlier decided to bat first on the dry surface after winning the toss. DC's batting performance underwent a setback as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed opener Phil Salt in the game's first over of batting. He was dismissed for a golden duck after edging an outswinger to land in Heinrich Klaasen's hands.

SRH's top order remained the main problem

DC's top order only scored 62-5 after he left, failing to take advantage of the chance. Following that, Manish Pandey and all-rounder Axar Patel scored 69 runs for the sixth wicket. They worked together to enable DC to achieve a respectable total of 144-9 in 20 overs. Before being removed, Axar and Manish both scored 34 runs each. Bhuvneshwar and Washington Sundar established themselves as the SRH's go-to bowlers by taking two and three wickets, respectively.

Chasing 145, SRH got a strong start when opener Mayank Agarwal crushed the Capitals all-rounder. Anrich Nortje ended his batting partner Harry Brook's wobbly effort when he was removed for 7 off 14 balls. Agarwal and Rahul Tripathi contributed 38 runs for the second wicket after he left the game. Axar Patel ended their partnership when he dismissed Agarwal for 49 runs off of 39 balls, concluding their joint effort.

After he left, SRH never seemed at ease playing Delhi Capitals. Washington Sundar ultimately tried to save his team by scoring 24 runs off of 15 balls, but he could not add another 13 runs in the final over. Anrich Nortje and Axar Patel established themselves as DC's go-to bowlers by taking two wickets each. Delhi has won twice in its last seven games, while SRH has already dropped five.
