Speaking exclusively on Cricbuzz, Rahane has asserted that Shubman missed the trick by bowling only three overs of Kuldeep in the middle overs. Furthermore, he felt that Jadeja was held back until the 30th over. Interestingly, spinners managed to bowl only six overs each.

"Personally, I think Shubman missed a trick by bowling only three overs of Kuldeep in the middle overs, and then he was waiting till the 37th-38th over. Even Jadeja being held back till the 30th over, those are the guys who can get you the wickets. That is where India went slightly wrong," Rahane said, speaking on Cricbuzz.

On the other hand, the former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan also lashed out at Gill and the Indian team management for not utilizing Jadeja properly as he was introduced in the attack very late. With spinners bowlers only 12 overs combined, Nitish Reddy went on to bowl a total of eight overs.

"More than Kuldeep, it is Ravindra Jadeja's inclusion in the bowling attack very late that was the problem. Maybe the thought was to give Nitish Reddy a bit more game time and overs under his belt in a match situation, but because of that, you get a bit hamstrung with your options," Zaheer stated on Cricbuzz.

Shifting our focus to the details of the third ODI, New Zealand batted first with Daryl Mitchell (137) and Glenn Phillips (106) shining as New Zealand posted 337/8 in 50 overs. Spinners managed to grab only one wicket.

In response, India scored only 296 runs in 46 overs before getting all out. Virat Kohli (124), Nitish Reddy (53) and Harshit Rana (52) were the top batters, but their knocks went in vain as New Zealand sealed the series 2-1.
