Former Indian middle-order batter Ajinkya Rahane has opened up on India’s major concern before they go into the fifth and final Test against England at the Kennington Oval in London, scheduled to start on Thursday, July 31.

Rahane stated that while the Indian team has sorted its batting order with excellent performances, he wasn’t impressed with the bowling department, as only a couple of bowlers are doing well, but they aren’t getting enough support from the other end.

"The India team is playing well, and the batting unit has been fantastic. What concerns the Indian team is the bowling department. A couple of bowlers are bowling well, but they are not getting the support," Rahane said on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, Rahane backed Indian batters Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar for continuing the game and scoring their respective centuries without shaking hands when they were in their 80s.

“Yes, there were some heated moments involved. England wanted to stop the game, but I thought that India did right. Rightfully, they played the game really well because when two batters are batting on 90 and Washington was 84 or 85. They deserved that 100,” he added.

Moreover, Rahane hailed both the Indian batters for staying unbeaten and guiding the team to a draw. Notably, England is still leading the series 2-1. If India manages to bag a win in London, they can draw the series 2-2 and share the trophy.

“Getting your first hundred, especially for Washington Sundar in England, he will remember for his lifetime. Jadeja did that beautifully well, batted really well. He’s been batting really well. I’m really happy for him that he’s actually when team needed him the most, he’s actually delivering his performance,” Rahane stated.

India might miss Jasprit Bumrah’s services in the final Test as the pacer has already played three out of five Tests on the tour.
