Virat Kohli is currently busy playing for India as he was a part of the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He had a great Test series as Virat scored 297 runs in six innings. He was the highest run-scorer for the Men in Blue. In the last match in Ahmedabad, Kohli scored 186 runs off 364 balls.

After a long gap of 1205 days, he finally scored a century in the red-ball format. It was his 28th Test ton and 75th international century. So, fans were hoping for him to score big again in the ODI series opener at Wankhade. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma was unavailable and Hardik Pandya got the opportunity to lead the team.

Virat Kohli scored just four runs in the 1st ODI against Australia

Pandya won the toss and opted to field first. However, India bowled beautifully and bundled out the Aussies for just 188 runs in 35.4 overs. Both Siraj and Shami took three wickets each. Jadeja grabbed two while both Pandya and Kuldeep grabbed one wicket each. So, fans were hoping for an easy chase for the Men in Blue. But, India dealt with a major blow when Ishan Kishan got out for just three runs off eight balls. Then, the former team India skipper came out to bat.

But, he failed to score big as Virat Kohli got out for just four runs off nine balls, including one boundary. Mitchell Starc bowled an unplayable inswinging delivery which he tried to flick to the legside. But, he missed it and it trapped him plumb in front of the stumps. It was so obvious that Nitin Menon did not take a second to raise his finger in favour of the bowler. So, fans were not happy and they slammed the star batter on the social media platform brutally after such a failure.
