Former India U19 player Riyan Parag has hit his second hundred in the ongoing Deodhar Trophy 2023. His first century of the tournament came against North Zone. In that game, his side was reduced to 57/5. However, Parag's 131 off 102 ensured that the team reached an unthinkable total of 337/8 at the end of the innings. In reply, North Zone was bowled out for 249 runs, losing the game by 88 runs.

Meanwhile, in the game against West Zone, the 2018 U19 World Cup winner helped his team from another sticky situation. East Zone was reduced to 157/5. At this stage, the Rajasthan Royals player in the IPL scored 102 off 68 balls to take the team 319/7 with Kumar Kushagra (53) also lending a good hand. In reply, despite Harvik Desai (92), the West Zone was bowled out for 162 runs, losing the game by 157 runs.

Riyan Parag's poor record is the reason why fans don't trust him

Notably, the Assam player has been playing for the 2008 IPL winners since 2019. In 54 games, he has only 600 runs under his belt. The right-hander's poor batting average (16.22) and strike rate (123.97) aren't helping his cause. Parag recently played for India A in the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 final. Meanwhile, let's have a look at fans' reactions after Parag's performance.
