Ravichandran Ashwin had a great Border-Gavaskar trophy for team India as he won the player of the series award along with Ravindra Jadeja. It was another dominating performance from the veteran spinner on home soil. Now, he will be seen in action in the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023.

He will play for the Rajasthan franchise. In the last edition, Ashwin scored 191 runs while taking 12 wickets. So, the fans will hope for another good season from the veteran spinner this time around. Ahead of the tournament, Ashwin shared an image where he was seen playing chess while having Coconut water. It seemed that the image is from the hotel where all players of the Rajasthan franchise are staying.

He shared the tweet with a caption: ‘Chess ramvanu, Elaneer peevanu, majja ni life’. It seemed like the spinner wrote the caption in Gujarati. So, fans started to troll him to use the Gujarati language despite being in the Rajasthan franchise. However, recently, Ashwin came up with his views on team India’s recent home ODI series loss against the Aussies on his official Youtube channel. Fans raised questions about the approach from the batters of the Men in Blue. In response to that, Ashwin said: "You should be brave on these slow pitches. I don't have any doubt about this whatsoever. In fact, what was India's strongest forte?” 

“Slow pitches and spin it to win it. Somewhere down the line, there was spin, there was a puff of dust. See even yesterday we saw puff of dust coming from the surface. Why did you not complain and give poor rating then? The pitch had puff of dust and yet Australia scored 269, right? And India almost chased it down. So, that's all an eyewash. These type of conditions are India's greatest conditions. We should play more games like these. In fact, India is not playing in these type of conditions,” Ashwin further added.
