Virat Kohli is currently gearing up for the upcoming Asia Cup as the tournament is all set to begin on 30 August 2023. Recently, he was a part of the squad for both the Test and ODI series in the West Indies tour. On 24 August, he even shared an image of him passing the Yo-Yo Test with flying colours with a time trial of 17.2.

Kohli has always admired the West Indies legend, Sir Vivian Richards and Richards himself shared his love for the former Team India skipper in a recent video by the Apex Council of Cricket. Listening to that, fans shared their views on social media. Richards also shared comparisons with Kohli.

He said: “Character, Pretty much determined, Fiery, Temporary as well. And all these little attributes can be attached to Vivian Richards. So that’s why I am in love with such an individual who plays with passion. Believes that everything is gonna happen. He is a believer and I am a believer as well. So I can see why there is a particular match.” Before the recent WI tour, Kohli shared his favourite moment of playing in the West Indies and opened up on his meeting with Richards in 2016.

While speaking on Star Sports' Follow the Blues show, he said: "My favourite memory obviously is Antigua. I got my first-ever double hundred in Test cricket in Antigua in front of Sir Vivian Richards. That for me was a very, very special moment and then he met me in the evening as well and congratulated me. It can't get any better than that." Even, in an earlier chat, Kohli claimed both Viv Richards and Sachin Tendulkar two ‘G.O.A.T’s (Greatest of all time) of the World Cricket. Hence, fans have always been entertained by the developing admirable bond between Kohli and Viv Richards over the years.
