One of the high-profile Indian T20 Leagues Bangalore was on receiving end of trolls on social media after their Twitter account was hacked on Saturday, 21st of January. Fans came to know that their account was hacked after they posted some content that was completely irrelevant to cricket.
Subsequently, the penetrator also edited the account name from Bangalore’s official name to “Board Ape Yacht Club” and changed the display picture of the account as well. Notably, the franchise hasn't removed the content posted by the hacker and an official comment or condemnation is awaited from the Bangalore team’s social media management.
Here’s what a hacker did to Bangalore’s Twitter account:

Although, the hacking of the Twitter account is not the first instance for the red outfits as it also happened almost two years back in the year 2021. Later on, the franchise came with an official tweet after they restored the account from the hacker.
“Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter account was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back. We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused,” read the tweet posted by the Bangalore franchise on their official Twitter handle.
Speaking of Bangalore’s performance in the Indian T20 League so far since the inception of the tournament, the team started its journey in the inaugural season of 2008 under the captaincy of former Indian skipper and current head coach of the national side, Rahul Dravid. Later on, the former cricketing great Anil Kumble also led the team for a few seasons.
Subsequently, the captaincy was handed over to Virat Kohli before he happened to quit before the commencement of the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. Bangalore has made it to the final of the Indian T20 League on three occasions namely the final of the 2009 edition, 2011 followed by 2016.
