The defending champions Northern Warriors will be keen to replicate the performance of the previous season. Northern Warriors had an astounding outing and won seven of their nine games, including the final in the last season. They started their campaign with a loss to Maratha Arabians but won their next six games to top group A. They lost to Delhi Bulls the Qualifier 1 but won the Eliminator against Team Abu Dhabi to book another clash against Delhi Bulls in the final. They outplayed Bulls in the summit clash and claimed the title, winning by eight wickets.

Northern Warriors have a very strong squad for the upcoming season as well and are a strong contender to lift their title again. They have a good blend of youth and experience in the squad. The likes of Moeen Ali, Rovman Powell, Imran Tahir, Upul Tharanga, Blessing Muzarambani provides them will quality in both the batting and bowling department.
