‘Abhi bhi shanti nahi isko’ - Gautam Gambhir says ‘Naveen-ul-Haq was right’ in verbal spat with Virat Kohli, shares his equation with MS Dhoni

Gautam Gambhir made headlines in IPL 2023 after getting involved in the verbal spat that took place between LSG’s Naveen-ul-Haq and RCB’s Virat Kohli. Now, when Team India lost the World Test Championship (WTC) final on 11 June 2023, a video went viral where Gambhir showed support to his bowler.

He claimed that as per him, Naveen was right and that is why, he stood by him. The former Team India opener also shared his equation with MS Dhoni and Kohli. He said that there is nothing personal between them and that whatever happens between them on the field, it only stays within the field.

While speaking on News 18 Hindi, Gambhir said: “I have a lot of fights on the cricket field, I always keep them limited to the cricket field. A lot of people said a lot of things and demanded that I give interviews for TRP. There is no need for a flashback, it was an argument between two individuals that happened on the cricket field. If it had happened outside, you would have called it a fight, this was just two individuals who wanted to win for their team.”

“I will just say this and not elaborate much, and I will say what I did, which I will endorse as I did for a person who was completely right in that match. If I felt Naveen-ul-Haq did nothing wrong, it was my responsibility to stand with him. If my teammate is wrong, I will never stand with him,” he further added.

“My equation with MS Dhoni is the same as my equation with Virat Kohli. My fight with Virat or Dhoni is not personal, it is just about the match. They also want to win. It should stay on the field. I respect every player I played with and who played for India,” Gambhir concluded. Listening to that, fans shared their views on social media.
