During the Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan registered a dramatic and thrilling win over the Afghans as things got heated up between players on the field. That did not stop on the field only as Afghan fans were seen breaking and throwing chairs at Pakistan supporters at Sharjah. It was an unpleasant sight to watch in a cricket match. So, the rivalry between these teams has become interesting in recent times between fans. Afghanistan might be disappointed with the final result of the series, especially with their performance in the first game. But, in the last two matches, they showed a lot of fight and that could encourage them ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup campaign.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan won the Player of the Match award in the last game while Imam-ul-Haq won the Player of the Series award. Despite such a poor result, Afghanistan skipper, Shahidi said: “It was tough, the pitch was different. We didn't apply ourselves. A lot of learning, disappointed with performance. We know that we will have the same kind of teams in the World Cup and Asia cup. Our batting was not good. We gave some runs in fielding also. Afghanistan spin bowling is always good. We are satisfied with them. Our openers are doing very good. Our middle order needs to take the responsibility, it's a big thing for us. We also had three injuries, and they were main players. That's also why we were behind."
