On 11 July 2023, India Women took on Bangladesh Women in the second T20I in Mirpur. After winning the first match, India were looking to seal the series with another win. While Bangladesh were looking for a win to keep themselves alive in the series. However, the home team failed to do so as India won a low-scoring affair.

Notable, it was Shafali Verma who made the headlines as she defended 10 runs successfully in the last over. Thus, they won the match by eight runs. In the last over, she took three wickets and conceded only one run. Bangladesh lost another wicket through a run-out in that over and lost the match. Seeing that, fans shared their views on social media.

Speaking of the match, Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bat first. But, it was a complete batting failure from India as they managed only 95 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Shafali was the highest run-scorer with 19 runs off 14 balls, including four fours. For Bangladesh, Sultana Khatun was the highest wicket-taker with three wickets for 21 runs in four overs. In reply, India’s bowlers managed to bowl in tight lines as the home team got bundled out for just 87 runs in 20 overs. For India, Deepti Sharma took three wickets for 12 runs in four overs and won the Player of the Match award. Shafali also grabbed three wickets along with Minnu Mani’s two and Bareddy Anusha’s one wicket.

After the match, Harmanpreet Singh said: "It's always important to bounce back. In the second innings we showed our characters and came up with positive results. Our bowlers were bowling under pressure but did well. In this series we have a couple of young bowlers who are going to take responsibility and bowl for us. Important for us to trust them. We are not going to hide them in the field."
