Ab De Villiers reveals about the challenges he faced while playing in the last two seasons of the IPL. The former South African cricketer faced tough times in the second half of the IPL 2021. Till then, it seemed as if he was an unstoppable identity. For someone who was consistent for a long time in the league, the failure in the second half of the league came as a surprise to many.

Many doubted what transpired behind the failure of the striking abilities of the star batter. Even before one could think of his future in cricket, the star cricketer announced his retirement from playing in the Indian Premier League. With that, the glorious career of the unorthodox batter came to an end in the biggest cricket league.

Recently, De Villiers talked about the struggles he had to face in the last two seasons of the IPL. The Proteas cricketer recently revealed the challenges he faced in the IPL while talking about it in an interview. De Villiers claimed that his vision was not good before the season, as he was kicked on his eye by his youngster. De Villiers said that his left eye was not working properly.

"My youngster accidentally kicked me on my eye with his heel. I started really losing vision in the right eye," said De Villiers who played for RCB from 2011 to 2021. De Villiers revealed about the conversation he had with the doctor. The star cricketer revealed what his doctor said to him after hearing about his problem. The former RCB player added that his left eye did a decent job in the last two seasons of the IPL. 

"When I got the surgery done the doctor actually asked me, 'How in the world did you play cricket like this?'. Luckily my left eye did a decent job for the last two years of my career," said De Villiers. There are many fans from Delhi capitals, RCB, and many other teams, who all loved the South African cricketer for his exceptional batsmanship.
