The 2023 ODI World Cup is all set to take place in India from 5 October to 19 November. So, on 27 June 2023, the fixtures of the tournament got released. All matches will be played across 10 venues over the span of 46 days. The final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 19 November.
However, 20 November has been kept as a reserved day. But, all eyes were on Team India’s fixture as they will look to win a major trophy for the first time since 2013. As the World Cup is going to be in India, hence the Men in Blue will look to take full advantage of the home conditions to win the trophy as they did in 2011.
India will face Pakistan in Ahmedabad on 15 October 2023
Rohit Sharma and his men will begin their World Cup campaign against Australia in Chennai on 8 October. Then, they will travel to Delhi to face Afghanistan on 11 October. After that, fans will witness the much-awaited clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on 15 October in Ahmedabad. Then, they will face Bangladesh in Pune on 19 October while facing New Zealand in Dharamsala on 22 October. After that, India will travel to Luckow to face the defending champion, England on 29 October.
Then, they will face a qualifier team in Mumbai on 2 November and South Africa in Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 5 November respectively. Notably, 5 November is Virat Kohli's birthday also. On 11 November, they will face another qualifier team in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, it is the penultimate day of the league stage. The Men in Blue will play all of their matches across nine out of 10 venues during the league phase. Only Hyderabad failed to get any of India’s matches. Seeing that fixture, fans shared their mixed views on social media. Many fans also claimed that it can be a huge task for Rohit Sharma and his men to win their games against the Aussies in Chennai and the Kiwis in Dharamsala respectively.
