Many videos also went viral on social media where Sarfaraz was seen tying the knot with a young woman hailing from the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking of Sarfaraz’s career, he has played 33 youth ODIs so far and in those games, he has scored 1080 runs, at an average of 51.42 with a strike rate of 101.69. In First-Class cricket, he has played 39 matches and scored 3559 runs including 13 centuries. He has an average of 74.14. While in 31 List-A games, he has smashed 538 runs, including 2 centuries.

Meanwhile, fans were expecting to see him getting a chance in the squad for the recently concluded two-match Test series in West Indies. But, he got ignored once again and regarding that, the former Team India cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar raised questions on the selection panel of India in a chat with Sports Today. He said: "Sarfaraz Khan has been scoring at an average of 100 in all past three seasons. What does he have to do to be picked in the squad? He might not be in the XI, but you pick him in the team. Tell him that his performances are being recognised. Otherwise, stop playing Ranji Trophy. Say, it's of no use, you just play IPL and think you are good enough for the red-ball game as well.
