Destructive Australian opener Aaron Finch gets past David Warner to become the country’s highest run getter in T20Is. The Australian T20I captain achieved the feat during his 79 run knock in the 4th T20I against New Zealand.

Before the start of the 4th T20I, Finch was 34 runs behind by David Warner’s tally of 2265 runs but a scintillating knock took him to the helm of Australia's leading run scorers in T20Is. Finch’s regular opening partner, Warner is not the part of the series as he’s recovering from a groin injury.

Finch was going through a poor run of form of late. He hardly scored in the recently concluded Big Bash League and even failed in the first two matches of the series. However, the third T20I saw him smack a 44 ball 69 which must have induced a lot of confidence in him. When he came out to bat in the fourth T20I, he looked in complete command and stoked 5 fours and 4 maximums in a blistering knock.

Talking about the match, Australia picked up an emphatic 50 runs win in the fourth T20I to level the series 2-2. The final of the series will be played on the 7th of March. Aaron Finch was left disappointed after he was not picked in for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Later, he said that he expected him to go unsold in the IPL auction after his poor run of form.
