KL Rahul suffered an injury during the LSG vs RCB clash in IPL while fielding. However, due to that, he did not come out to bat as an opener in that game. But, he came out to bat at number 11. Then, in the next game against CSK, he did not get featured in the playing XI. Hence, in his absence, Krunal Pandya got the leadership duties.

However, now, it has been confirmed that Rahul is going to miss the remainder of the IPL 2023 for LSG. But, reports have also suggested that the star Team India batter is most likely to miss the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia. Seeing such reports, fans have shared their views on social media.

KL Rahul has been criticised heavily throughout this IPL season for his overall strike rate

Rahul is currently in Mumbai for scans and his overall situation will be taken care of by the Indian Cricket Board itself. His scan results will determine his chances to play for the Men in Blue in the WTC final against the Aussies. The match will take place at the Oval, England starting from 7 to 11 June 2023. However, there is no such clarity about what injury he has suffered as LSG or the Indian Cricket Board have not shared such clarity so far. As per reports, he could be suffering from a hamstring or hip injury. KL Rahul has scored 274 runs in nine matches so far in IPL 2023.

After the RCB loss, Krunal Pandya said: “It’s such a sad thing Rahul pulled his hip flexor. I am not aware how bad it is, the medical team will assess it”. However, the former Kiwi cricketer, Simon Doull was not happy with KL Rahul came out to bat at number 11. He said: “I am not sure if he or the team thought they could win the game when he came in at No.11. What I do believe is that the net run rate is still going to be crucial later on in the tournament. So if Amit Mishra could hit four or two fours, or if KL could have got one four, they all suddenly get 12 more runs than what they were on.”
