The Caribbean show stopper Chris Gayle is the brand ambassador of T20 cricket. There are so many records to his name in the shortest format. The one record however that occupies in the memories of many is when he hit 17 sixes in an innings. Chris Gayle hammered the Pune bowlers all around the stadium and scored 102 runs just in sixes only.

2. Yuvraj Singh's fastest T20I half-century - 12 balls

They say Yuvraj Singh was a T20 player before the invention of the T20 cricket. Naturally, when the shortest format arrived, it was the Punjabi southpaw who adapted the quickest. His ability to hit sixes at will helped him land in record books on multiple occasions.

In the 2007 T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh created history after smashing 6 sixes in an over. He went on to notch the record of the fastest half-century, reaching the feat in just 12 balls.

3. Sunil Narine's maiden Super over

Maiden over and T20 games are on the opposite spectrum in T20 cricket. There are hardly any instances of a maiden over in a normal match, so bowling one in a super over is quite a task in itself.

Not for Sunil Narine though as he did that against Red Steel while playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors. With games getting faster and faster, this record seems to be the most difficult to break.

4. Chris Gayle's highest individual T20 score - 175*

Chris Gayle graces this list again with the record of highest individual score in T20 cricket. Despite the game tilting more in the favour of batters, Chris Gayle's record still stands tall.

Smashing 17 maximums and 13 fours to reach his 173, Gayle took just 66 balls and took RCB to a mammoth 263. Many notched centuries since then but none have come close to breaking this record and it looks like this would be the case in the future as well.

5. Ahmed Shehzad's most boundaries in an innings - 20

In T20 cricket, hitting sixes gets a lot of importance. However, hitting fours is just as equally important as it reduces the risk of getting out. Ahmed Shehzad's holds the record for hitting 20 boundaries in an inning- the most by any player. .
