Former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who was renowned for his wristy elegance, had his stellar career marred by accusations of match-fixing. He was banned for life by the BCCI in 2000 for allegedly participating in match-fixing allegations. Even if the Andhra Pradesh High Court ultimately lifted the ban in 2012, Azharuddin's reputation had already been irreparably harmed.
