Once the number one T20I batter, Malan found no takers at the Indian T20 League mini-auction on Friday. The batter has recently fallen down the charts and doesn’t fit the ‘explosive overseas player’ category for the Indian T20 League teams.

The 21-year-old Afghanistan off-spinner plays in a number of domestic T20 leagues around the world. A base price of 1 Crore however put all the Indian T20 League franchises off and the Afghan player remained unsold at the mini-auction.

James Neesham

The Kiwi all-rounder has been an integral part of the New Zealand white ball team. Many franchises however had already filled their quota of overseas all-rounders by the time Neesham’s name was announced. His base price of INR 2 Crore also was a big factor in him getting unsold.

Travis Head

Australia explosive batter Travis Head also faced snubbing at the mini-auction. With a base price of INR 2 Crore, the right-hand batter had his work cut out from the get-go. Head had played 10 matches in the Indian T20 League so far and has scored 205 runs with a strike rate of 138.51. With the exception of one inning where he scored 75, he failed to light the stage, a major reason for him finding no takers.

Blessing Muzrabani

The West Indies fast bowler has been a sensational multi-format player. In 53 T20 matches, he has taken 61 wickets alongside 42 in 34 T20I matches. Coming into the Indian T20 League mini-auction at a base price of INR 50 Lakh, the 26-year-old had hoped for a good payout, but the reality was entirely different. None of the teams called out his name and hence a good fast bowler remained unsold.
