The 15th edition of the Indian T20 League didn’t go what Kolkata could have expected. They played 14 matches in the tournament and could win only six out of those to end up in the seventh position in the league table. Later, their strategies during the auction also went like a setback for the two-time Indian T20 League champions.

Batting in death slog overs and powerplay

The changes Kolkata has kept making changes in the top order of their batting lineup. It also came up with some negative impacts on the batting of the team during the phase of powerplay overs. Apart from that, out-of-form Venkatesh Iyer had also been a headache for the management.

The management did all efforts and tried all combinations but failed to come up with the results.

Kolkata’s bowlers have a horrible economy rate of 11.35 in the death overs which is enough to reflect their issues while defending a target or be it restricting any team from a big total.
