The men in blue got eliminated from the tournament after losing two consecutive matches in the super-4 round against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka. Experts and fans went on to question the combination of the Indian team during the entire tournament. So, here we’ll have a look at three players who might be dropped from the squad of the Indian team for the T20I series against Australia.

The 27-year-old explosive batter from Haryana was a part of the team in the Asia Cup 2022 for the role of an all-rounder. His role was supposed to bat at the lower order and score some crucial runs for the team to give a good finish to the innings.

But unfortunately, the Rohtak-born right-hander failed to deliver up to the expectations of the team as he could not produce any good knock for the team. Deepak Hooda got a chance to bat two times and he could score only 19 runs at a poor average of 9.50. Considering this performance in the continental tournament, the management might opt to exclude him from the squad for the series against Australia.

The 25-year-old pacer from Madhya Pradesh disappointed everyone with his very poor outings in the Asia Cup 2022. The right-arm quick got a chance to bowl in two games for the Indian team and he could pick only two wickets with a very poor bowling average of 36.00.

Other than this, he conceded runs with an economy of 12.0 which is very expensive and dangerous for any team in the T20 internationals. So, keeping his poor shows in the mind, he might be axed from the squad of the team for the upcoming home series against the Aussies.

The star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was excluded from the playing XI of India in their first match against the arch-rivals Pakistan. Senior wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik was picked in the playing XI. Later on, Pant was selected in the playing XI in the next matches of the tournament.

He appeared in the three matches of the super-4 round of the tournament but could score only 51 runs with an average of only 25.50. Skipper Rohit Sharma and management might opt to pick Dinesh Karthik or Ishan Kishan in place of Rishabh Pant.
