New Zealand are set to cross swords with Pakistan in match 19 of the 20-20 World Cup at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The teams will meet for the first time after New Zealand's withdrawal of Pakistan tour. A lot of words were exchanged and the Blackcaps had to face a lot of backlash from the Pakistani exerts and fans.
With a lot of outside noise managing to grab eyeballs, the Kane Williamson-led team would be hoping to make the right noises on the field. For starters, Williamson is recovering well from the hamstring blow but his elbow is a concern. There is no clarity if he will be part of the team. Apart from the skipper, the batting looks solid with the presence of Martin Guptill, Devon Conway, and Tim Seifert. The South African-born Conway has been a real revelation and he would be hoping to continue with the good work.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has confidence and momentum with them as they managed to beat India by a thumping margin of 10 wickets. Their match-winners Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan stood up and finished the match without breaking a sweat. The team also has experience of playing in the UAE conditions and will look to exploit it by keeping things simple against New Zealand.
Pitch Conditions
The match will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where the odd balls have kept low. Chasing has been preferred and Sri Lanka pulled off 171 run target against Bangladesh with relative ease on this ground a few days back.
Weather Conditions
The forecast predicted for October 26 is 34 degrees Celsius and it would a bit humid as well
