Later on, talking about the action of the second semi-final between India and England played at the Adelaide Oval, the Indian team couldn’t get a good start as senior batter KL Rahul fell prey to the senior English pacer Chris Woakes only in the second over of the Indian innings.
Following KL Rahul’s departure, skipper Rohit Sharma and star batter Suryakumar Yadav also went back to the pavilion and India lost three wickets only at a total of the score of 78 runs. Although a well-fought 61-run partnership between Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli helped India to post a total of 168 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While defending the target of 169 runs, Indian bowlers were never in contention against the swashbuckling opening pair of England including the likes of skipper Jos Buttler and senior batter Alex Hales.
