In Sunday's first game of the 16th edition of the lucrative Indian T20 League, Rajasthan and Hyderabad went up against each other in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The home side won the toss and chose to field first; Rajasthan seemed content with the opposition's decision. Both opening batters went off to an amazing start, scoring fifties to set a solid foundation for the rest of the line-up to come in and set Hyderabad a steep target.

Rajasthan, however, closed off their innings at 203/5 from their quota of 20 overs. Judging from how they started, they should have reached a much higher score, making the target even more challenging for the home team. T Natarajan remained the pick of the bowlers for Hyderabad, picking up two wickets for 23 runs in three overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi also returned with two wickets but remained expensive, going for a hefty 41 in his four overs. Umran Malik bowled a peach to remove Devdutt Padikkal, which remained the only scalp for the pace sensation.

Hyderabad need 204 runs to win from 120 deliveries

Hyderabad's response, however, did not get off to a great start. They lost two in the very first over without a single run on the scoreboard. There were loads of expectations from the English batting sensation Harry Brook. However, the Englishman disappointed Hyderabad fans, causing an uproar on Twitter.

Interestingly, Harry Brook was robbed by Hyderabad for a whopping Rs 13.25 crore at the ITL 2023 mini-auction, but the English batter was unable to comprehend how he became a millionaire. "I've not got many words, to be honest. I thought I'd get picked up, but I didn't think I'd get picked up for that much," Brook was quoted as saying by English media.

"One thing I would say is that I'm not motivated by loads of money. Obviously, it's a nice touch, but I just want to play cricket for the best teams and play for England as long as I can. Yes, the ITL was a big dream for me, and the money is a big bonus, but it is not the be-all and end-all. I play because I love batting," he added.

Here's how fan's reacted to Brook's miserable performance:
