Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith were seen having banter with Shubman Gill during the last few minutes before Lunch and that led to the Indian batter's dismissal, thereby the Australian duo having the last laugh.

Nathan Lyon had been bowling to Gill with a few minutes of play remaining before Lunch. However, Gill was trying his best to waste some time and ensure the Aussies couldn't get another over in before Lunch. Labuschagne and Smith seemed to get into the ears of Gill for his time wasting.

Here's what they said:

Marnus Labuschagne: “Easy, got it in easy!” He needs to call for the ‘sprain’

Steve Smith: “This is bull****! Oi, let’s play!”

Shubman Gill: “You take your time Smithy, no one says anything to you!”

Steve Smith: “Just play mate. Let’s play.”

Marnus Labuschagne: “Take your time son.”

Just a ball later, Gill charged down the track to negate a good length from Lyon, but the experienced bowler had other plans as he unleashed a slider. Gill couldn't help but just edge that delivery to Steve Smith at first slip. Both Labuschagne and Smith had the last laugh as India lost their third wicket at the stroke of Lunch.

Rishabh Pant was the highest scorer for India in their first innings with a patient 40, but the wickets kept on tumbling at regular intervals.

Jasprit Bumrah provided a late flourish with his 22 as India have been bowled out for 185 in their first innings. Australia would be delighted with their effort after losing the toss and having been asked to bowl first by Bumrah.

Usman Khawaja lost his wicket at the stroke of stumps on two runs with Australia ending Day 1 at 9/1.
