Boxer and influencer Jake Paul set to produce, star in combat sports movie

Jake Paul has already established himself as a boxer and a social media star. He is currently entering Hollywood. The prizefighter-turned-YouTuber Paul will play the lead role in a feature film produced by Mandalay Pictures and Wonder Street, it was revealed on Tuesday. According to a press release, Paul's character would be a "small-town youth who achieves international fame through combat sports."

Co-founders of Boxing's Most Valuable Promotions, Paul and Nakisa Bidarian will serve as the project's executive producers. David Zelon of Mandalay and Craig Baumgarten of Wonder Street will produce the movie.

"Jake continues to make an indelible imprint on today's youth with his exuberance and business savvy," Zelon said in a statement. "He is the blueprint of the new breed of entrepreneur, using social media as a platform to bring his brand to global audiences. Like many other superstar content creators, Jake cracked the code to attract an audience that generates hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue while also delivering his story in a way that connects directly with audiences of all ages."

Jake Paul, 26, became one of the most well-known YouTubers in the world after gaining success on social media. He has turned that achievement into a successful fighting career. Paul won four of his first six professional boxing fights via knockout. He has two victories over former UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. Paul recently suffered his first ring defeat, to Tommy Fury back in February.
