Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, after a tremendous ODI World Cup, is currently busy with the captaincy duties of Melbourne Stars in the 2023-24 Big Bash League (BBL). Having lost all three matches, Maxwell's team has got the worst possible start to the tournament. They need a quick turnaround to have a say in the ongoing edition.

Meanwhile, the Stars skipper has come under the limelight for another reason during the match against the Sydney Thunder at Lavington Sports Oval in Albury on Saturday, December 23. Maxwell was mic'd up during the match and his witty comments connected to former Aussie pacer Brett Lee and his BBL teammate Haris Rauf left everyone in splits.

Maxwell, one of the finest destructive batters of the moment, quipped that fast bowlers do not listen to what is being conveyed and always want to bowl a bouncer. The 35-year-old then questioned the fast bowlers' notorious behavior by targeting legendary pacer Lee in the commentary box. The right-arm pacer defended by saying there was nothing wrong with that attitude.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) overseas star recently said that he will continue to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) until he can't walk anymore. He has had great seasons with the Bangalore-based franchise and is aiming to continue that in the 2024 edition as well.

"The IPL will probably be the last tournament I ever play, as I will play the IPL until I can't walk anymore," Maxwell was quoted as saying by Australian Associated Press (AAP)," Maxi said.

"I was talking about how good the IPL has been to me throughout my career, the people I've met, the coaches I have played under, the international players that you get to rub shoulders with, how beneficial to my whole career that tournament has been.

"You're rubbing shoulders with AB (de Villiers) and Virat (Kohli) for two months, talking to them while watching other games. It's just the greatest learning experience that any player could ask for," he added.
