In a few months, the world’s best athletes will head to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games. India’s biggest hope will be none other than javelin star Neeraj Chopra. The 26-year-old is the current Olympic Gold Medalist having won it in Tokyo.

Young German star Max Dehning has become a potential rival to Neeraj Chopra’s throne. The youngster has thrown the Javelin at a distance of over 90 meters to become the youngest ever to reach the mark.

This latest feat created a huge storm in the Javelin world. The fans are now excited to see Neeraj Chopra lock horns with his new competitor during the mega event in Paris later this year. 

Max Dehning throws in the challenge to Neeraj Chopra – 

The 19-year-old German athlete Max Dehning has become a potential competitor to Neeraj Chopra. On Sunday, the youngster threw the javelin at a distance of 90.20 meters to huge applause among the fans. This also made him the first youngster to throw the javelin to such a distance.

His previous best was 78 meters and he now is one of the big favorites for the gold medal in Paris. For the record, Jan Zelezny held the record with a throw that covered a distance of 98.48 meters. 

Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra is set to shift his training bases to Turkey. The 26-year-old was training in South Africa before making this decision. India’s superstar is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation to retain his medal Paris 2024 Games. 

Apart from Neeraj Chopra other Indian athletes are set to move abroad for training. The Indian contingent will be targeting a large haul of medals during this year’s Olympics in Paris. The Asian Games which was held last year saw India reach their best-ever finish on the medals tally.
