India is facing Pakistan in a crucial Asia Cup Super 4 match at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After winning the toss, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam opted to bowl first. Starting with Shaheen Afridi, Indian batters opted for an aggressive batting approach to counter Pakistani pacers. Rohit became the first batter to score a six against Afridi in the first over of an ODI game. In the very next over, Gill hammered three boundaries against Naseem Shah, which elaborated India's plan for the crucial game.

Soon, Gill reached his half-century in 37 balls, while Rohit hammered Shadab Khan to continue his dominance. Rohit scored his half-century in 42 balls. However, just after the drinks break, Shadab took his revenge by dismissing the Indian skipper. Rohit, in his innings, scored 56 runs off 49 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes. Gill, in his innings, scored 58 runs off 52 balls with the help of 10 boundaries before getting dismissed by Afridi.

Soon after their departure, the rain gods stopped the game as heavy rainfall interrupted the match. As the game was paused, star India batter Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper KL Rahul were batting in the middle. Both have added 24 runs off 38 balls for the third wicket. Rahul, in his innings, scored an unbeaten 17 runs off 28 balls with two boundaries.

Meanwhile, Kohli scored 8 runs off 16 balls. It's worth noting that if rain continues to interrupt the game, there is a reserve day for the marquee clash. However, match officials and the Indian team will look to continue the match today so that the team can get some rest on Monday. It's worth noting that India will face Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the same venue.
