Mohammed Siraj had a rollicking start with the ball for India in the Asia Cup final. The right armer was on fire as the Sri Lankans did not know what hit them. It was a wonderful spell of bowling as the Man from Hyderabad blew the Sri Lankan top order away when he took six wickets. He also became the first Indian player to take four wickets in an over.

The Men in Blue and the Islanders are currently playing against each other in the Asia Cup final as we write. The Indian bowlers hit the right lengths and lines and imposed proceedings on the Sri Lankan batters straightway. The Men from the Emerald Isle were not without many of their first-rate players but still managed to make it to the final of the continental tournament.

The inexperienced Lankan batting lineup could not face up to Siraj's fire and found themselves in a big hole that they found themselves very difficult to get out of.  Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for 2 off 4 balls and caught by Ravindra Jadeja off Siraj. Kusal Perrera and Sadeera Samarawickrama departed back to the dressing room for ducks.

On the other hand, Charith Asalanka who had a great tournament was dismissed for a first-ball-duck. Dasun Shanka received a ripper from Siraj and was clean-bowled for a four-ball duck. While Siraj picked up five wickets. Bumrah took one of them in what was a great start by the Indian bowlers.

The Islanders have won six titles in the Asia Cup and the Men in Blue have won seven titles across formats. The Men in Blue will be pleased with this wonderful show with the ball ahead of World Cup 2023 which will be held on home soil. Sri Lanka had a very nervy encounter against Pakistan to make it to the final of the multilateral tournament. On the other hand, India lost their last game against Bangladesh by 6 runs.
