The same pattern persisted in the 2023 auction, where several players won huge deals. # 1 Narayan Jagadeesan - 375% salary hike

At the 2023 Auction, the Kolkata team acquired uncapped Indian wicket-keeper batsman Narayan Jagadeesan for 90 lakhs. Throughout the domestic competitions this year, Jagadeesan was in incredible form. In a Vijay Hazare Trophy match for Tamil Nadu, he scored 277 runs, breaking the previous record for the highest List-A score.

At the 2022 Auction, Chennai paid 20 lahks for him, but they released him before the 2023 season. Jagadeesan entered the auction with a base bid of just Rs. 20 lacks. He was the subject of a bidding war between Chennai and Kolkata, with the latter ultimately winning at 90 lahks.

The Indian T20 League 2023 Auction's most expensive selection was England all-rounder Sam Curran. Former runners-up Punjab made an all-out effort to acquire him and paid him 18.5 crores. As of now, Curran is the player with the highest salary in the Indian T20 League.

For the Chennai team in the Indian T20 League in 2021, Curran played his last season in the tournament. He received 5.5 crores from the franchise that year. His salary in 2023 is 236% higher than it was in 2021.

#3 Heinrich Klaasen - 950% salary hike

Heinrich Klaasen, a South African batter, will compete in the tournament for the first time in three years. At the mini-auction, the Hyderabad team won his services for 5.25 crores. Surprisingly, Klaasen didn't sell at the Auctions in 2020, 2021, or 2022.

His most recent appearance was in 2019 for the Bangalore team. Bangalore gave him 50 lahks that year. His salary in 2023 will increase by 950% over what it was in 2019.

#4 Rilee Rossouw - 1433% salary hike

Rilee Rossouw didn't find a buyer in the first round of the Auction 2023, but he later got a deal from the Delhi team for 4.6 crores. The South African batter will compete in the tournament for the first time in six years.

In 2015, Rossouw spent his last campaign with the Bangalore squad. His 2015 salary was Rs. 30 lakhs. His present salary is 1433 per cent higher than his prior one. To see if he can defend the pay increase will be interesting.
