In the next 10-12 months, one-day internationals will be the focus of the cricket world. The reason for this is that the next global event, the ODI World Cup, will be held in India in 2023. India has already qualified for the event and has begun their preparations in bilateral series as well.

Over the last two years, the selectors have given many players ODI opportunities. However, they were not all treated equally. Some players were retained in the team despite a few poor performances, while the following four unfortunate players were left out of the ODI squad despite doing nothing wrong.

#1 Prithvi Shaw

Opening batter Prithvi Shaw has gone unnoticed by selectors in all three formats. The former India U-19 captain has appeared in six international matches for India, scoring 189 runs at a strike rate of 31.50. These are respectable figures for a new opener.

The star player played his last ODI when the secondary Indian team toured Sri Lanka for a complete white-ball series in the absence of senior players.

#2 T Natarajan

T Natarajan has only played two One-Day Internationals (ODIs). The left-arm fast bowler has the potential to solve India's death bowling problems. He has the potential to become India's top bowler in the 2023 World Cup if he gains the necessary experience.

However, a few injuries in his brief career have kept him from reaching the pinnacle. The Hyderabad bowler in the Indian T20 League played his last game against England back in 2021.

#3 Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya can provide India with a backup all-rounder for Ravindra Jadeja. On his debut, the all-rounder from Baroda hit a quickfire fifty. He has played five One-Day Internationals, scoring 130 runs at an average of 65 and taking two wickets.

However, he has not played an ODI since July 2021. He played his last match against England in 2021. Pandya also has played many memorable knocks in the Indian T20 League.

#4 Rahul Chahar

Despite taking three wickets on his debut against Sri Lanka, Rahul Chahar has not been given another 50-over match for the Indian cricket team. He also played his last ODI during India's tour of Sri Lanka in 2021.

The experienced Indian T20 League campaigner can be very useful for the Indian team in the future. He would look to make a quick comeback to the Indian team.
